ICO launches the twelfth call for Fond-ICO Global through AXIS

AXIS, the venture capital management company 100% owned by ICO, has today launched the 12th call for Fond-ICO Global, the first public venture capital Fund of Funds created in Spain. The investment commitment of this new round is up to 284 million euros.
The number of funds offered in this call is thirteen, the highest number since the Fund was set up, in the categories of Expansion, Debt, Venture Capital, Incubation and Technology Transfer.
The deadline for managing bodies to submit the documentation ends on November 28, with approval by AXIS expected in the first quarter of 2020.
ICO, through AXIS, launched Fond-ICO Global six years ago to promote the creation of privately managed venture capital funds that invest in Spanish companies at all stages of growth.
As of 30 October 2019, a total of 82 private funds have been approved through Fond-ICO Global for investments amounting to 1,734 million euros in 11 calls. Of the 82 funds, 29 are Venture Capital funds, 28 are Expansion Capital funds, 20 are Incubation or Technology Transfer funds and 5 are Debt funds.
The maximum investment target of these 82 funds could reach up to 22,169 million euros.
Moreover, given the multiplier effect of this instrument, Fond-ICO Global's investment commitment in the eleven calls made so far (1,734 million euros) represents an injection of 6,757 million euros in Spanish companies.
Investments through Fond-ICO Global help to transform companies and improve their productivity and internationalisation. Therefore, these investments have an impact on economic growth and job creation.
